  1. All this hope and effort about disseminating information. And yet we've ended up in a situation where kids connect to the internet to watch kids playing games on the internet.

  2. Amazing! Back in 1993 they were talking about video conference, shopping over Internet, VOD… I feel like im back to the past and want to say them "dude, it worked…" 🤣🤣

  3. So basically back in the olden days y'all used to use command prompt for everything . Damn thank you Jesus for allowing some one to create Graphical User Interface cause I don't know if I could survive 😂😂😂😂😂😂 . Worse I hate writing programs so I don't like typing commands.

  4. This show really waan't about the internet. The first and 3rd examples were just common online services available to anyone with a modem for years. The Well is NOT the internet.

The middle guy with red hair was actually the only guy on the internet, but visually it was the least interesting segment.

  5. I liked the internet way better before any mouth breather with opposable thumbs could put it in their pocket and belch out nonsense at a whim.

  6. absolutley crazy, they have this proto-podcast internet radio show in this episode. it's so wierd think about this all being more than 25 years old.

  7. I started going on this part of the internet right after my BBS at the time enabled some kind of side-deal for access. it was suprisingly useful, even at the very early stage. it was quite a revelation after the very spartan ascii bits you'd see on the old BBS. it was very very clear that it was the way things were going to be at the time, even for myself as a 13 year old.

  8. I wish the internet was never invented because it is being used as more of an entertainment device rather than educational device….. Even our news nowadays is centered around entertainment news rather than news that actually informs the viewer on important issues that matter…. if our society keeps "Keeping up With the Kardashians" we are doomed

  9. Nobody back then could have predicted how empowering access to information would be. Nor could they have known about the privacy destroying cancer of social media and related active crime scenes such as Facebook.

  10. I watched all these shows when they first aired in the Bay Area. I don't know how far afield they were seen. Those were heady times to live in Silicon Valley!

  11. Look. The evidence is all right here. This, once a civil place, is now full of memes far worse than anyone could have imagined in 1993. These are ancient ruins of a bygone age.

  12. Some people call it the dark ages. I call it the time before advertising, data mining, and the big corporations behind it poisoned the well
